Opportunity to Access Mental Health Telemedicine

Quality Living Inc. (QLI) spinal cord injury (SCI) and traumatic brain injury (TBI) rehab hospital of Omaha, Nebraska, is now offering SCI-informed PT, OT and mental health telemedicine on a limited basis through United Spinal’s national networks.

QLI, a United Spinal hospital member, provides targeted, SCI-informed telemedicine services to former in-patients and nationally to others living with SCI who may lack availability of local SCI medical expertise.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic requiring social distancing, SCI-specific healthcare provision is particularly difficult to access.

Typical offerings might include range of motion guidance, coping and other required self-help techniques due to reductions of typical PCA-provided services. The primary objective is to provide specific direction or guidance to empower the consumer to get back on track and increase independence in the absence of their typical support systems.

Here’s how you can take advantage of this service:

  1. Individual consumers should provide the following information to our Resource Center Team at https://www.unitedspinal.org/ask-us: name, email, phone, city/state and SCI diagnosis plus be prepared to discuss 1-2 main goals with QLI during telehealth visits.
  2. QLI staff will then complete a thorough ‘intake’ process to get SCI background ahead of telehealth visits with clinicians
  3. Additional information about QLI telehealth and other services can be found at http://www.qlitelerehab.com or by contacting QLI directly at telerehab@qliomaha.com
