Will, born with cerebral palsy, is the first student in the class to receive his black belt. When he first started the class he states that he used martial arts as a form of therapy. “When I first started, my balance wasn’t that good. I was still recovering from an operation I had,” says Will.

Will has been dedicated to martial arts for twenty-one years. His determination shows as he is on track to receive his black belt, the highest ranking in martial arts. “(Will) has done a lot of things that I think people may have been surprised at and that’s because he pushes himself and works and works and works until he gets it,” says instructor Charlie Walton.
