Aimee Copeland survived a flesh-eating bacteria. She lost her entire left leg, her right foot, and both hands. Aimee is a traveling motivational speaker sharing a message that life is not always as bad as it may seem.
“You know people look at me, and they feel so sorry for me. I’m like I got it going on y’all! I have an amazing life, and there is no need to feel sorry for me.”
Aimee says that every time she speaks, her message seems to impact people in a different way. When audience members come up to Aimee after one of her speeches, Aimee says her own perspective on life is changed after hearing how her own story resonates with people with different experiences in life.
“We all have these unique little ways we see the world. The more we see each others ways of seeing the world the bigger our perspective gets, the wider our base of knowledge gets, and the greater understanding we have of what other people go through.”
Aimee has a full life – she states that work, play, spirituality, and physical health are all important factors of her life. Aimee believes that everything happens for a reason. She says her life experiences have allowed her to better herself and help other people.
