Woman Putting On A Shirt Without Finger Mobility

Without abdominal control or finger movement, putting on a shirt takes a little adjustment, but is completely possible.

Learning to adapt to limited mobility

Meg Johnson, a quadriplegic, demonstrates that it’s not complicated once you get the hang of it. She leans against the back of the chair while she gets her arms through the sleeves and slides each side up to her shoulder. Then, she lifts the shirt over her head, then slides her hand under it to pull it down, hooking her fingers on the hem for the final inches. By shifting from side to side, she pulls her shirt down in the front. From start to finish, it takes about one minute.
