Why You Shouldn't Treat Kids With Disabilities Differently

“The biggest mistake that anyone can make is to treat them differently.”

Dr. Lawrence Vogel is the Medical Director of the Spinal Cord Injury Program at the Shriners Hospital for Children in Chicago. Children with a spinal cord injury or other disability have the same needs as any other kids, including boundaries and rules from the parents. If children are dealt with like they don’t have the spinal cord injury, it helps the child to develop so they can thrive.
