Theresa Goh, a wheelchair-user and Paralympian from Singapore, has changed her perception on how she wants others to see her over the years.
“At first I didn’t want people to see me as a person with disability. I just want them to see me as everyone else. After that, I realize it’s important to be represented and to be a representation of a person with a disability.”
Theresa knows that she is more than her disability and she knows what she is capable of. “Treat me as a normal person…basically not to see me and immediately think pity,” she adds.
