Kristen is a full time caregiver to her husband Jeff, a ventilator-dependent quadriplegic. Much of the hands-on care she provides for her husband is detailed, and she uses a headlamp to illuminate her work area.

“I use my headlamp every day when I perform tasks for my husband’s care. Much of the work I do requires the use of both of my hands, so holding a flashlight is out of the question. The headlamp is a perfect solution!”
Kristen says the light provided by the headlamp is particularly useful for the following tasks:
- trach changes and cleaning
- catheter changes and flushes
- skin checks and wound care
- wheelchair repairs
- clipping of fingernails and toenails
“What I like most about the headlamp I use is that the light is adjustable in the vertical position. This way I can keep my neck and head in a comfortable position and adjust the angle of the light as necessary. It’s also lightweight and doesn’t hurt my head when I wear it.”

In addition to using the headlamp for her caregiving tasks, Kristen admits she also uses it for everyday tasks around the house: “I use it for things like close up work with tools. I recently changed out a door handle, and the light from the headlamp helped me see the details of the work I was doing. I also use it when I’m doing close-up work like crafts. It helps prevent eye strain.”
