What Does Accessibility Services Do?
United Spinal Association’s Accessibility Services is exclusively dedicated to making our built environment accessible to people with disabilities, particularly wheelchair users. They are a team of highly skilled professionals, including certified accessibility specialists, plan examiners, attorneys, architects and code enforcement officials. Their comprehensive expertise allows them to navigate the complex landscape of federal and state accessibility requirements, ensuring that facilities across the nation meet and exceed standards for inclusivity.
Dominic Marinelli, Vice President of Accessibility Services, was specifically recognized in the “Modeling, Music and Movies: Accessibility in the Arts” category for his team’s significant role in ensuring large venues like stadiums and arenas are inclusive. This means that when you attend a concert, a sporting event, or a movie, the accessible seating, restrooms, and pathways you utilize are often a direct result of the meticulous work of Dominic and his team. They have consulted on major projects including iconic venues like Citi Field, Madison Square Garden, and Yankee Stadium, making leisure and entertainment accessible to everyone.

Joshua Basile, Board Secretary, United Spinal Association, was named in the Polices And Protections: Accessibility’s Legal Frontier section for his advocacy to remove income, asset, and age limits for state-run Medicaid buy-in programs impacting workers with spinal cord injuries.Basile’s Spinalpedia.com is a curated collection of over 40,000 video resources for the SCI community.
