If you’re in a wheelchair and can’t do your own independent transfers to the floor safely, your bed is a great place to play with your baby. For Meg, a quadriplegic mom, she finds it easier to transfer baby from her lap to the bed than from her lap to the floor, so for her it’s a win-win!
Meg has a way of lifting her legs to balance her baby before bumping her bit by bit across Meg’s leg and across the bed a safe distance from the edge. “Sometimes toys fall on the floor,” Meg warns, but overall it’s a smooth way to transfer baby, just make sure your chair is as close as it can get to the bed!
