- The Air Craft Carrier Access Amendments Act has been reintroduced in Congress.
- This bill calls for improved air travel safety, accessibility and accountability for wrecked equipment.
- Now is the time to contact your legislator to urge them to support this legislation.
We have launched a critical advocacy effort to improve air travel for people with SCI/D and all wheelchair users. We need all wheelchair users and our allies to join us for this to succeed.
This week, Representative Dina Titus and Senator Tammy Baldwin reintroduced the Air Carrier Access Amendments Act. This legislation’s goals are improving safety, accessibility, and accountability in air travel. Too many members of our community too often face damaged wheelchairs, injuries, and even death.
We have a window of opportunity to pass this legislation as part of the upcoming reauthorization bill for the Federal Aviation Administration. The FAA is reauthorized every five years, and is up for renewal in 2023. We need as many people as possible to email their members of Congress to support the Air Carrier Access Amendments Act.
