Although CDs are used less and less often, anyone who still has a desktop computer and is putting in a CD will benefit from this quadriplegic’s tips. By anchoring herself on her wheelchair, she’s able to lean over to hit the button to open the CD rom.
To get the CD out without moving her fingers, she braces the case against her body and slides her thumb in between the sides of the case, and gets it out in a similar way by sliding her thumb between the CD and the case. She slides the CD between her two fingers to slide it onto the drive, and centers it with her pinky. She’s able to hit the button and get to work!
