Schwab’s spinal cord rehabilitation program serves individuals with spinal paralysis from conditions such as:

• Motorcycle and car crashes
• Spinal cord disease
• Violence
• Sports and recreation injuries
• Falls

Our spinal cord rehabilitation inpatient and outpatient team is comprised of:

Physiatrist (a physician specializing in physical medicine and rehabilitation, with specialized fellowship training in brain injury)
Physical, occupational, recreational and speech therapists
Rehabilitation nurses
Rehabilitation psychologists, case managers, and social workers

Working collaboratively with patients and families, the team strives to meet client goals, prevent secondary complications of spinal cord injury, and help individuals achieve the highest quality of life. Additional specialized services for individuals with spinal cord injuries include spinal cord drop-in clinic, peer mentoring, and violence prevention.
