National Disability Employment Awareness Month: Career and Benefit Panel Discussion

This Career and Benefit Panel discussion will offer participants the opportunity to hear from a diverse group of employment and benefits experts who will share their perspectives on pursuing rewarding careers after a spinal cord injury or diseases diagnosis. The webinar will also highlight valuable programs and resources that can help you discover new ways to pursue your goals.

Panelists will include:

Joshua Basile, a power wheelchair user, C4-5 quadriplegic, Maryland vocational rehabilitation recipient, trial attorney, disability rights advocate, community leader, consultant, public speaker, and inventor.

José Hernandez, a C-5 quadriplegic, peer mentor, disability advocate, Community Organizer for the Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Association of New York State (CDPAANYS) and President of United Spinal’s New York City chapter.

Diane Winiarski, Director of Allsup Employment Services (AES), a national SSA-authorized Employment Network (EN) who oversees AES experts providing specialized help to people with disabilities who are returning to work through the Social Security Administration’s Ticket to Work (TTW) program.

Duane Rohr, Senior Manager, Workforce Initiatives, CVS Health.  The Workforce Initiatives teams is focused on building strategic partnerships with government, nonprofit, educational and faith-based organizations to develop workforce programs that help diverse populations break the cycle of poverty and access meaningful employment.
