Lesly St. Louis will moderate the conversation with Allsup, nationwide Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI), and Bill Fertig. After a three-month stay in SCI (Spinal Cord Injury) rehab, seven additional months of recuperation and reorientation at home, he returned to the ranks and obtained employment at the district 911 emergency dispatch center, utilizing Social Security Administration’s Ticket-To-Work program.

Lesly St. Louis is United Spinal’s director of the Pathways to Employment program. He has made a career teaching people with disabilities how to overcome barriers to employment and strives to advocate for people with disabilities who want to secure purpose and meaning to improve their quality of life.
Bill Fertig, former director of United Spinal’s Resource Center, served for twenty-five years as a municipal police officer and training sergeant. Bill acquired his injury during an off-duty motorcycle accident in 1999 which resulted in T-7 paraplegia.
Diane Winiarski is the Director of Allsup’s Employment Services (AES), a national SSA-authorized Employment Network (EN). She oversees AES experts providing specialized help to people with disabilities who are returning to work through the Social Security Administration’s Ticket to Work (TTW) program. Before taking the role, Diane was Director of Vocational Rehabilitation Services for AES, whose services included career planning, benefits counseling, ongoing employment support, and employment retention services.
