In one of her posts, she discusses the “essential truths of caregiving.” Donna and one of her fellow longtime caregiving friends Rose created a living list of essential caregiving truths. Living means that these truths are ever changing and new truths can be added.

Some of the truths on the list include:

“Nothing cures a crisis like a new, different crisis.”

“Weathering crises doesn’t get easier over time, it gets harder.”

“Trust your gut. It’s almost always right.”

“Sharing my journey with others who are in the same boat is the best coping tool.”

And the last truth Donna and Rose thought of…

“Love is the great engine and energizer.”
