Additional Chapter Information

United Spinal Association of Virginia supports and provides resources to people with spinal cord injury or disease and assists them in achieving their highest level of health, independence and quality of life.

The chapter educates the newly injured, families, public officials, community leaders, and citizens to the needs of persons with spinal cord injury and disease, and the importance of creating an environment of greater independence for all. We offer a variety of services and a wealth of knowledge towards unlocking the door for active living with a spinal cord injury.

United Spinal Association of Virginia has built a program out of proven models of Peer and Family Mentoring in order to provide newly injured individuals and their families with a certified mentor to help navigate the early challenges of SCI. We match mentors with peers based on age, gender, level of injury, and interests in the hopes that the newly injured individual will feel most comfortable asking anything/everything they may have questions about.

United Spinal Association of Virginia on its own and in partnership with other area organizations arranges an assortment of events that are of interest to individuals with a spinal cord injury or disease.
