- Go Hot Air Ballooning – If you want to see the city from 2500 feet above, Global Ballooning offers wheelchair accessible hot air balloon rides. The baskets are specially designed where one side folds down to allow wheelchair users to safely and easily roll in.
- Explore the Zoo – Werribee Open Range Zoo allows you to experience an African safari up close and personal. Tour buses are wheelchair accessible with designated spots at the front of the tour bus.
- Visit the Beach – Point Leo on the Mornington Peninsula (southeast of Melbourne) and Ocean Grove on the Bellarine Peninsula (southwest of Melbourne) both offer beach wheelchairs free of charge. If surfing is more your thing, the Disabled Surfers Association of Australia holds events twice a year at these beaches.
- Check out a National Park – Wilson’s Promontory National Park offers self-contained wheelchair accessible cabins complete with accessible bathrooms. Many trails are smooth and comfortable for wheelchair users. You can even borrow a Trail Rider or beach wheelchair for some of the more rugged terrain.
- Brave a Canopy Walkway – The Otway Fly is an elevated steel walkway built high atop the forest canopy. It’s flat and wheelchair accessible and offers a breathtaking view!
