Carissa Louise, a C6/C7 quadriplegic, demonstrates how she independently straightens her hair using a hot brush.
“You feel like a different person when you have some kind of hairdo for the day, and when it can be done by myself this quickly it is just really a game changer.”
The hot brush Carissa uses has a rubber coating on the handle making it easier for her to hold. The brush has three buttons to turn it on/off and adjust the temperature.
Carissa positions the brush between one hand while balancing the bottom of the brush with the other hand. She states from then on it is basically just like brushing her hair.
