Tracy Todd was injured in a horrific automobile crash when she was 28 years old.

Now, nearly two decades later, Tracy lives her life as a high level quadriplegic, paralyzed from the neck down. She has chronicled the ups and downs of her journey in her book Brave Lotus Flower Rides the Dragon. Tracy writes honestly and openly about living life as a quadriplegic, and explores such topics as parenting, depression, community support, and finding love.
Here’s what one reviewer has to say about Brave Lotus Flower Rides the Dragon:
“Tracy, I’m fumbling with words because of the many emotions stirring in me right now.
I have, for the first time in over 10 years, finished a book. But that’s the least exciting thing.
It was of course Brave Lotus Flower rides the Dragon, and it took me on an emotional rollercoaster of which I could not let go.
Knowing and following you from before the book made it a very special experience. I so anxiously waited for the first mention of Sexy Legs, wanting many times to soothe Tracy in the story and tell her it’s going to be ok! I saw the future and you’ve found your knight!
For me the most incredibly brave part of this journey, is how open you are with your story and life journey. It was mesmerizing getting a glimpse into the private life of a quadriplegic both on the logistical side but more over the emotional one.
I feel the balance is a bit unfair now that you’ve shared every intimate detail in your life, including the tears, anger, love and love making, and especially the farts! To even out the balance, I invite you to ask me any question any time and I will answer without filters.
Just ask me in private, as I guess I’m not as BRAVE as you are.
With deepest love,
One lucky enough to be among your earth angels.”
