Wheelchair User Navigating Singapore

“I do drive and I own a motorbike too,” is something we don’t hear everyday from someone sitting in a wheelchair. Jack rides his motorbike to work everyday to save cost and drives his car for family ocassions. He has a sidecar attached to his bike for him to place his wheelchair in or for passengers like his wife, Tricia, or their children. As for Tricia, also a wheelchair-user, she relies on a van subsidised by Handicaps Welfare Association for her daily commuting to work.

When both his vehicles break down, it still isn’t an issue for Jack. “Singapore…is so much better to get around for wheelies,” he says. He relies on public transportation when he needs to.
