“We got some highs and we got some lows and you just try to weather the storm.”
Mike, a paraplegic, shares about his relationship with his wife after his spinal cord injury when he was 41 years old. “If you can stay together, that’s great,” he shares. Mike feels lucky to have his wife’s support, despite it not being easy all the time.
“You just try and ride it out and see what’s going to happen,” Mike says, “because you’re still the same person as you were before your injury.” No stranger to new situations and challenges after his paralysis, Mike has gone through a lot, but getting through those challenges is what’s led him to have a strong bond with his wife.
