“Will he grow up and be embarrassed of me? Or be ashamed of me?”
Jorge was scared at first. A paraplegic since he was 11 years old, Jorge struggled with self-acceptance. “I grew up being embarrassed and ashamed of myself,” Jorge admits. It’s understandable that he also feared his son’s reactions.
Thankfully that wasn’t the case with his son. “Kids just pick up on parent’s confidence. If dad feels good, then son’s gonna feel good too.” Being a confident dad or mom is not only great for your own well-being, but it’s also a great influence on your kids.
