Creative Uses of Pool Noodles

“Most of the time it’s more the parents’ hangup at first thinking their kid is going to not show the same affection to them, when it’s actually usually the kid that teaches mom or dad that they just want to see mom or dad,” says Dr. Brock Bowman, Assistant Medical Director of Shepherd Center.

Jennifer Sexton was paralyzed when she was 5 weeks pregnant with her son. She is now learning to both adapt to life as a paraplegic and as a mom on wheels. This is her new normal. Thomas really enjoys helping his mom, and Jennifer is always finding new tricks, including creative uses of pool noodles, which she uses around her house to help her with daily tasks and playing with her son.
