Showing Off My Wheelchair To Kids

“Those kids come running around me like I’m a toy. They see the wheels, they see this guy in a wheelchair and they’re just ecstatic about it.”

Tony was paralyzed before his son was born, so his son doesn’t know him any differently. Now that he has all these other kids being excited around him, it’s given his son a new reason to think his dad is cool. It’s something special for his son.

Most people won’t think “Hm, today I’m going to show off my wheelchair.” Usually they draw enough attention themselves, but as Tony shares, it’s not always negative.
