As technology continues to play a pivotal role in our members’ daily lives, we are excited to announce the launch of the ‘Tech Access Connection’ group on Facebook.
United Spinal’s Tech Access Initiative is committed to elevating our community’s awareness of the tech product and service innovations that can help it thrive.
In this pursuit, we recognize the vital need for a dedicated space for people with physical disabilities to come together to discuss and learn about game changing accessible tech solutions.
Inquire, Learn and Share
Once members join our Tech Access Connection group, we encourage everyone to learn from and engage with accessible technology news postings, ask and respond to community questions, and share their experiences when trying new tech products and services.
This is a fun opportunity for Tech Access Connection members to stretch their creative muscles by shooting a video or taking pictures to highlight their experience or further clarify questions to the group.
Throughout our ongoing tech dialogue with the community, it has become clear that sharing accessibility solutions directly from person-to-person is one of the most reliable ways to dial-in your personal technology.
Across the country, United Spinal members with diverse abilities and expertise are finding unique ways to use tech to increase their independence and stay connected. Often, what works for one person may not work for another, but there is a great depth of knowledge amongst us and our community is overflowing with ideas and insights.
Our Tech Access Initiative works closely with our inaugural year program sponsorship partner’s Microsoft, Google, Verizon, Teladoc and Waymo who together make up our Tech Access Council. This means, we can keep members up-to-date on new accessible features and applications from diverse areas of the tech industry, as well as opportunities to contribute feedback as users and testers.
Additionally, as part of United Spinal’s partnership with the Google Accessibility Team, our Tech Access Connection group’s admin. is trained on the accessible features and functionality for a number of Google products and is happy to answer your questions about what may best work for individual needs.
