At the University of Rochester Medical Center, we provide comprehensive, multidisciplinary and patient & family centered care to individuals affected by spinal cord injury. Housed in the major medical center of a level I Trauma and regional Burn center, our hospital based program is unparalleled in the Upstate New York region. Each of our patients benefits from a personal rehabilitative team with expertise in spinal cord injury medicine. We treat our patients utilizing state of the art equipment and the best treatment techniques. In addition, we have an expert team of specialists from Physiatry, Orthopedics and Neurosurgery to coordinate and collaborate the care of our patients within one health system under one roof. Our goal is to provide the highest level of care to help patients regain their function and quality of life in the best possible ways.

Our Spinal Cord systems of care along with the Stroke systems of care and the comprehensive adult and pediatric rehabilitation programs is the only system in the region that is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), the agency responsible for setting the standards for the delivery of superior rehabilitative care.
