Rally with Disability Leaders at Roll on Capitol Hill!
United Spinal Association’s 14th annual signature policy and advocacy event, Roll on Capitol Hill (ROCH), took place in June. 194 advocates from 37 states attended 176 virtual meetings with their congressional representatives. Thanks to the attendees’ willingness to share their personal experiences with lawmakers, we were able to transform mundane policy discussions into deeper conversations about the needs of our community that will help shape the future of disability policy.
“The issues we raised couldn’t be more essential for wheelchair users — having the help you need to stay in your own home, making sure you have the right products that work for you to go to the bathroom, and cutting unnecessary red tape to get the wheelchair you want and to get it fixed faster when it breaks,” says Steve Lieberman, senior director for advocacy and policy.
This virtual event strengthens the voice of our community and ensures all people with disabilities are engaged in policies that impact their quality of life and independence.
Only registered advocates are selected to participate, so please sign up if you would like the chance to attend future events. Join our growing network to help ensure the disability community is heard in every corner of the country.
