Our Pathways to Employment (PTE) Program is designed to support the pursuit of job opportunities for wheelchair users. PTE provides resources about benefits, requesting accommodations, resume support and access to mentors who have successfully returned to work after injury or diagnosis. “In September 2022, I received an email from United Spinal Association saying that Walmart is hiring. I told myself, ‘let me give this a try’. To my surprise, one month after I submitted the job application, I got an offer from Walmart for the Resolution Coordinator position,” says Jequ Okeke, a wheelchair user who lives in Atlanta.
“I took it, and in November 2022, after one month of training, I started working officially. I have to thank the United Spinal Association. I’m someone who has directly benefited in my recovery journey from their services,” he says.

Job Opportunities at Walmart
Resolution Coordinator, Contact Center – Walmart is looking for career-minded, customer-centric individuals who are experienced in providing best-in-class customer service. As a Customer Care Specialist, you will manage a high volume of incoming calls from customers, stores, and associates while navigating multiple systems to aid in answering questions and resolving issues.
Case Manager, Claims – Leads claim investigations by conducting ongoing medical and legal reviews; commissioning field investigators to determine claim origination; managing media exposure during investigations; synthesizing information from outside counsel; and reviewing, documenting, and indexing information received on each claim.
