United Spinal Association will host Frances M. Ozur Cole from Albuquerque, New Mexico, at its 7th Annual Roll on Capitol Hill, June 24-27 in Washington, D.C., along with other prominent disability advocates, to speak directly with legislators on issues that affect the independence and quality of life for people with spinal cord injuries and disorders and other pre-existing conditions.

2/13/18: United Spinal Appoints New National Chapter Liaison
United Spinal appoints Richard Hayden, a disability advocate and president of its Southern California Chapter, as National Chapter Liaison to lead the organization’s 50-plus chapters in helping people with disabilities discover new paths to independence.
1/23/18: United Spinal Hosts Inaugural ‘Roll on Arizona’s Capitol’ to Advocate for Disability Rights
United Spinal’s Arizona chapter gathered for an inaugural ‘Roll on Arizona’s Capitol’ at the Arizona State Capitol Rose Gardens on January 22, 2018 to advocate for progressive legislation that benefits wheelchair users and all people living with disabilities.
12/08/17: United Spinal to Provide People with Disabilities in Puerto Rico Disaster Relief and Essential Supplies During Holiday Season
United Spinal will be sending a delegation to Puerto Rico to provide disaster relief from Hurricane Maria to wheelchair users and other people with disabilities so they can regain their independence and quality of life.

07/06/17: United Spinal Secures Decision for Wheelchair User Complaint Against Statue of Liberty Ferry
A New York District Court decision will permit David Heard, a power wheelchair user and member of United Spinal, to continue to pursue legal action against Statue Cruises, LLC. for allegedly discriminating against him on the basis of his disability.

9/20/16: United Spinal Named Beneficiary of ‘Ride with Ian’ Cross-Continent Bike Trek to Raise Spinal Cord Injury Awareness and Funds
United Spinal has been named beneficiary of the Ride with Ian Cross-Continent Bike Trek and will receive 100 percent of the profits raised by Ian Andersen, who is cycling 20,000 miles from Alaska to Argentina to increase awareness, help veterans, and fund rehabilitation.

United Spinal and New York City have agreed to expand a ground-breaking 2002 settlement in a class action lawsuit that requires the City to install and upgrade wheelchair curb ramps at all of its street corners.
