Achieve Tahoe builds health, confidence and independence through winter and summer sports instruction at all ability levels for adults and children with disabilities.

By engaging our participants in healthy activity and encouraging exploration of new capabilities, our programs create opportunities for achievement in sports that carry through to other areas in life.

Based in North Lake Tahoe . . . . Achieve Tahoe leads the way in adaptive sports and recreation for people with disabilities. With over 50 years experience, our trained staff and volunteers guide you in discovering life without limits. Our specialized adaptive equipment and teaching methods allow us to accommodate almost ANYone with ANY disability. Our Mission is to provide affordable inclusive physical and recreational activities that build health and confidence.

Achieve Tahoe’s Military Sports Program provides year round sports opportunities for Veterans of the Armed Services disabled in the service or our country. Our organization was founded by wounded veterans returning from Vietnam, who pioneered ways to stay active and foster reintegration back to society.

Achieve Tahoe Programs

Winter Sports

We offer one-on-one instruction for skiers with a range of intellectual or developmental disabilities.
Mono skiing is for independent sit-down skiers.
Bi-skiing is a fun and easy way to explore the mountain for those that need to sit to ski and may need additional help with balance and coordination.
Snowboard instruction is available for those who want to ride a single-plank.
Learn to ski and snowboard in a safe and trusting environment using verbal cues to navigate the mountain.
Four-track and “slider”. For skiers who need a little extra stability on the hill.
Three-track skiers use hand-held outriggers to assist skiing on one leg.

Summer Sports

Water Skiing – Beginner and advanced skiers enjoy one-on-one instruction from experienced adaptive water ski instructors and trained volunteers. No prior experience is necessary.
Tahoe Water Sports – Canoeing, kayaking, paddleboarding – if it requires a paddle we have it! All instruction provided at beautiful Donner Lake. Come join in “the quiet ride.”
Sierra Summer Sports – It’s a day of water sports fun! Get your fill of boating, jet skiing, canoeing, kayaking, and tubing on beautiful Donner Lake. All activities are guided by our experienced Achieve Tahoe staff and volunteers.
